Description:	His certificate of ordination was granted by Smith's Chapel (now Mount Carmel Baptist Church) Aug. 16, 1823. Present also is a letter (1919) from Mary Hardee, enclosing the certificate, to B.W. Spilman, and Spilman's biographical information on Hardee (1939).
